Whole 30 Experience: Week One

Welcome. Victoria here. It’s been an entire week of living the Whole30 lifestyle. Giving myself a pat on the back as I write for getting this far in the journey. Now, only 4 more weeks left ago. What I have learned through this process is to be P R E P A R E D and to P L A N, plan, P L A N. So far, the Whole30 has been such a blessing for me.  Though it has only been one week, I feel myself more energized and less sluggish.  In my opinion, my skin feels more “glowy” and it has definitely cleared up a “whole” lot more (get it? Eh? “whole” = Whole30? Lol.) I have not found any fallouts or difficulties during the first week.  I thought my body would go into shock from not eating a bowl of rice, a plate of creamy pasta or three scoops of butter pecan ice cream drizzled in chocolate syrup and topped with whipped cream **drools** for this first week.  The prior weeks before starting this new lifestyle my husband and I were living off of pizza, drive-thru food (DELICIOUS chili cheese fries with extra cheese, I may say so myself) and candy galore! But, I guess my mind and body were stronger than I believed them to be!

Things I’m Learning:
  • You can curve cravings + rehabilitate bad eating habits
  • My meals consist of a large portion of protein, vegetables and then sprinkled fruits on the side.
  • Chu and I have been such label reader nerds! You never know how much products contain sugar until you read their labels!
  • Coconut oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder have been our go-to seasonings
  • Meat is your best friend
  • Grapes are expensive BUT so worth it!
  • Potatoes are game changers
  • Always plan ahead!

Until next week’s Whole30 update,
Victoria Vue
