How do you move on from the loss of someone so dear to you?....

Dear Grandpa,
You will be missed. SO much. I know my heart aches with so much loss. I am still in shock and will not allow myself to believe that you are gone. When I close my eyes, for any reason, I see you. I see you with your beautiful big smile, going around to shake hands and to hug every person around you. I see you peeling little cutie oranges and handing them to us. I see you building contraptions and designing different things with random materials found. I see you.

Last night, we gathered at your home to celebrate the life and legacy you left behind.  Harmony wrote you the most sentimental and sincere letter... We miss you. We all miss you.

You had the biggest and most selfless heart... No one can ever replace you.  You loved the Lord with all your heart, mind, strength and soul. You dedicated all the days of your life to serving the Lord and His people. You loved endlessly, regardlessly, generously, selflessly, and sacrificially.  No one had a bigger heart of serving than you. You gave. Each and every day. You gave to the poor, the meek, the needy. You gave to the church and the people of God. You gave to your family, willingly.

And though my heart hurts so much and I am filled with tears writing this post, I know and understand that the life you lived was one for Christ.

Thank you for loving me and for showing me how to love others...
Thank you for dedicating your entire life in following Christ. Picking up his cross and shadowing his footsteps. There is no one else like you.

I love you, grandpa...

I know I will see you again in heaven.

The Lord knew that you were ready to come home.

I cannot wait to hear you sing again.
