TRAVELING
(somewhere you've always wanted to travel to)

Exploring the world has always been a passion of mine. Traveling and enjoying the beauty of nature has always given me peace. Trying to pinpoint ONE place that I would most admirably want to visit and travel to is highly difficult for me.  I want to see the world.  I want to be able to capture memories and images of what God has created; whether that be actual physical places or the people I meet.  If I had an unlimited amount of money and time, I would travel the world.  I would travel to Italy.  I would travel to the “city of love,” Paris, France.  I would travel to Rome, to Germany, to ancient ruins and historic sites.  I would travel to and hike the entire Appalachian Trail.  I would travel and enjoy every crystal clear and white sanded beach this world had to offer.  I would travel to hidden waterfalls and high recommended resorts.  I would travel through South America and love on, minister to and share the gospel with children.  With all this being said, YES.  I love to travel.  And if I were given the chance and opportunity to, I would travel to all of the places I have on my bucketlist.

However, how can I use this passion of traveling to glorify God?  Here is what I have learned through my short 21 years of traveling.

1)      Relationships
Traveling builds relationships.  My family and I take at least one road trip every year.  And let me tell yah, we all wait for those days to come.  I enjoy traveling with my family so much.  Every road trip is different but it is always so much fun, despite the car sickness and lack of or over amounts of sleep.  We spend countless of hours singing songs, playing car games like “A Willaby, Wallaby, We” or the song game, praying, updating each other on one another’s life, and EATING.  Through the time we spend together, our relationship as siblings, children, and parents deepen and our understanding of one another sharpens.
There are also new relationships built with the people I meet as I travel.  Though I am an introvert by heart, I love listening and hearing people’s lives, testimonies, and stories.  It brings me so much comfort and encouragement to know that the God who brings freedom and redemption to our lives, loves us all regardless of who we are.  As a child of God, through the lives we interact with, whether that be with people we know or even the cashier at the gas station, we should always be ready to share our faith and display our loving Father through our actions and words.

2)      We are called to GO

“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying,
“Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?”
Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”
(Isaiah 6:8)

God commands us to go and make disciples of all nations (referenced from Matthew 28:18-20).  My hope and prayer is that when God calls us to fulfill his mission, to travel and to leave behind what is comfortable, pleasant and easy, that we will be ready to go and follow.
